I was commissioned to create a logotype that pays homage to the iconic Senate logo, taking influence from the sharp letterforms, dynamic angles and squat E.
The founders needed an attractive, memorable design with pleasant proportions, unique ligatures and flexibility for one-colour prints. This design has since been used on shirts, stickers, banners, embroidery, hats and hoodies with all proceeds donated towards competition setup and prize money.
After the success of the first four Blade Battle competitions, a spin-off was created named the Junkyard Jam. I was asked to do the posters, and it being an informal/non-commercial event I took the opportunity to experiment with AI generated abstract illustrations. I generated illustrations using Midjourney, heavily edited them in Photoshop then added type using Illustrator.
